Tips for Circle Creators: Setting Amounts, Schedules, and Rules

As a circle creator, the choices you make at the start shape how smooth the circle runs. Here are some practical tips.

Amount. Pick an amount that everyone can afford every round. It’s better to start small and keep the circle going than to set a high amount and have people drop out or pay late.

Schedule. Match the frequency to your group. Weekly works for some; monthly is easier for others. Make sure the due date is clear (e.g. “first Monday of the month”) and that everyone has time to pay before the recipient needs the money.

Order. Decide who receives when. Some groups randomise; others use a fixed order. Whatever you choose, record it in Sousou so everyone can see the full cycle.

Rules. Agree on what happens if someone pays late or can’t pay. Will you allow a skip? A late fee? A replacement? Put it in writing if you can, and refer to it if issues come up.
