Rounds and Cycles Explained: How Sousou Payouts Work
In Sousou, a cycle is one full rotation where every member receives the pot once. A round is one step in that cycle: one member is the recipient, and all others contribute.
For example, in a circle of six people with monthly contributions of $50, one cycle has six rounds. In round 1, member A receives $250 (5 × $50). In round 2, member B receives the same, and so on. After six rounds, everyone has contributed five times and received once—cycle complete.
The app shows you which round you’re in, who receives this time, and when the contribution is due. You can see the full schedule so there are no surprises. Payouts are made outside the app (bank transfer, cash, or whatever your group uses); Sousou only tracks who paid and who’s next.
Understanding rounds and cycles helps your group plan. You know exactly when your turn to receive is and when you need to contribute. That clarity is what Sousou is built for.
